The Slot Canyons of Utah were formed by the crushing of sand into sedimentary layers of stone and the carving of water through many millennia. This painting shows the play of light as it opens a door through the red rock of the canyon. The genesis of this image is the journey of a grain of sand and a drop of water over eons.
